Next Steps for Waitlist Families

We’re so glad you found your way to The Village Schoolhouse.

Because our learning community is intentionally small, we take time to personally get to know each family as we build our founding Schoolhouse family. The steps below will help you learn more about our philosophy and begin the enrollment process.

Step 1 — Complete the Family Introduction Questionnaire

This short questionnaire helps us learn more about your child, your family values, and what you hope your child experiences in a learning environment.

Once submitted, we will review your responses and be in touch regarding your Zoom interview.

Step 2 — Read the Family Handbook

While we review your responses please take a look over our family handbook. This explains the philosophy, culture, and expectations that guide our Schoolhouse community.

We encourage families to review this before moving forward so you have a clear understanding of the environment we are creating together.

Step 3 — Zoom meeting

After we have reviewed your family introduction questionnaire we will reach out to schedule your Zoom meeting with your family, our founder and our lead teacher.

Prior to this meeting your application fee of $50 is due. This is a nonrefundable application fee.

During this time we will walk through a few more questions, learn more about your family, share more about the Schoolhouse, and answer any questions you may have.

Step 4 — Enrollment Invitations

After your Zoom conversation, we will thoughtfully review each family as we continue forming our founding Schoolhouse village.

Families will receive an email with either an enrollment invitation through our system Brightwheel or notification that the program may not be the right fit at this time.

Because our Schoolhouse is intentionally small, enrollment invitations are extended as space becomes available and in the order families joined the waitlist.

We approach this process with so much care and prayer as we build a community where children feel known, families feel connected, and the culture of the Schoolhouse remains strong.

If you decide to accept your enrollment invitation your enrollment fees will be due at that time to secure your spot in our program.

The Village Schoolhouse is intentionally different from traditional schooling. Our model blends academics with curiosity, nature, meaningful work, and strong relationships through what we call The Curriculum of Life™.

Families who thrive in our community tend to value:

• protecting childhood and limiting unnecessary technology
• curiosity and real-world learning over worksheets and test pressure
• character, kindness, and responsibility
• strong partnership between families and educators
• a small, connected learning community

Not every educational model fits every family — and that’s okay. Our goal is simply to build a Schoolhouse where children can grow in curiosity, character, and confidence.

Is The Village Schoolhouse Right for Your Family?

What happens After we accept our enrollment invitation?

Background Checks
Once families have decided to move forward with enrollment at The Schoolhouse, they will be asked to go through our background check process. This process is mandatory for all adults who are onsite.

In-Person Connection
Once families have accepted their enrollment invitation they will be invited to spend some time with us in person — an opportunity to meet Kayla and our lead teacher, connect with other families, and allow us to get to know you and your child before the schoolhouse is in session.

Thank you for taking the time to walk through this process with us as we thoughtfully build this Schoolhouse community together.
